Post-doctoral position in bioinformatics applied to gene expression

Post-doctoral position in bioinformatics applied to gene expression

The de Duve Institute is looking for a specialist in bioinformatics (PhD) to work on a project dealing with gene expression in human cancer. The candidate will analyze gene expression data from local and published experiments and develop analysis tools. Demonstrated experience in genomics (in particular RNA-seq), statistics (R) and databases is required.

The fellow will join a dynamic team of about ten researchers led by Professors Jean-Baptiste Demoulin and Violaine Havelange, with strong collaborations with our local genomics platform and bioinformatics department. The project is focused on the role of micro-ARN, kinase gene mutations and signaling pathways in leukemia. The position is full-time, for an initial period of two years (renewable).

Many researches over the last 20 years have shown that when confined to sub-micron dimensions, many materials – including metals, semiconductors, ceramics and polymers – exhibit unexpected and potentially useful properties completely different from their bulk counterpart.
