Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) is a research organisation working to promote bioeconomy and sustainable use of natural resources. We provide solutions and services to our customers based on best available scientific knowledge. Our research results and services generate added value and sustainability as well as scientific evidence to support decision making. We carry out research on forestry, agriculture, food, game, and fisheries. We also perform statutory services.
The research professorship (tenure track: associate or full professor) in Business development and economics focuses on development of novel and innovative business concepts and models for competitive and value-adding business creation in the field of bioeconomy. The research should focus on enterprises’ management, business and growth opportunities, market and financial performance, changes in business environment, and strategy choices. The key objective of the research professor is to analyze economic and other prerequisites for sustainable and competitive business generation in the field of bioeconomy and related markets.
The research professor should have a doctoral degree in business economics or in a related discipline. She or he needs to develop strong interdisciplinary collaboration in studying and developing business models and solutions enabling the emergence of new value chains and networks in the field of biobased economy. She or he should have solid knowledge of advanced methods applied in business development and economics research. The research professor is expected to build a strong research project portfolio and a research team, actively collaborate with academic and industrial players and stimulate active use of research results by beneficiaries. The research professor is expected to have established international networks and to be actively engaged in national and international collaboration activities and in scientific discussion. The research professor should have strong track record in managing international research projects and in publishing and disseminating scientific results. Close interaction with entrepreneurial stakeholders and understanding of bio-based production processes and systems are considered to be an advantage.
