About the labs
The Laboratory for Genome Editing and System Genetics (https://voneschlab.sites.vib.be/en) develops highly multiplexed CRISPR/Cas-based technologies for precision genome engineering in microbes.
We apply these technologies in the model eukaryote Saccharomyces cerevisiae to study complex eukaryotic genetics.
The Symbiotic and Pathogenic Interaction group (https://michielslab.sites.vib.be/en) studies diverse topics related to bacterial survival under stress conditions, from basic mechanisms to translational research.
