We are looking for R&D Team Leaders, who will work in a dynamic multidisciplinary and multicultural environment together with imec researchers, hardware engineers, industry assignees, tool suppliers, device and process experts and scientists.

Dry and wet processing such as isotropic etching, cleaning and surface functionalization processes play a vital role in the semiconductor industry, spanning various stages such as Front, Middle, Back, and far Back-end-of-line (3D). The Surface and Interface Processing (SIP) team assumes a pivotal role in device integration for Logic CMOS, Memory, beyond-CMOS, and Quantum computing, which serve as consistent drivers of innovation, bringing forth a continuous stream of novel and increasingly complex wet processing challenges. For instance, in the Angstrom era in Logic CMOS, the requirements are precise isotropic etchings (and cleaning) with sub-nanometer control. These challenges are tasked with the etching, cleaning and passivation of dielectrics and metal surfaces. A comprehensive understanding of materials and chemistries for wet and dry in the semiconductor industry is indispensable to meet the stringent requirements involved.

We are looking for an R&D Team Leader to join our team.

  • You will focus on the research and development of dry (isotropic) and/or wet processes on future technologies.
  • You will be responsible for coordination of R&D team for successful process R/D.
  • You are an excellent technologist and have skills in cross-functional R&D projects.
