About the employer

neurocure

NeuroCure is a Cluster of Excellence in the neurosciences at the Charité ‑ Universitätsmedizin Berlin established within the framework of the Excellence Initiative funded by the German federal and state governments.

This interdisciplinary research consortium focuses on the transfer of knowledge from basic science to clinical application (translation). The expertise of the university and non-university partners contributes to the development of effective therapies through a better understanding of disease mechanisms.
Building on the Cluster's initial focus on neurological disorders such as stroke, multiple sclerosis and epilepsy, NeuroCure scientists now also conduct research on psychiatric disorders including Alzheimer's disease, autism, depression and schizophrenia.

NeuroCure partner institutions include the Charité, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Freie Universität Berlin, Max-Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC), Leibniz-Institut für Molekulare Pharmakologie (FMP) and German Rheumatism Research Centre Berlin (DRFZ).

The structural aim of NeuroCure is to develop and strengthen Berlin as a neuroscience research location. This is being achieved by both better networking of ongoing research activities and establishing new professorships and junior research groups in Berlin.
