About the employer

The Langevin Institute was set up in 2009 from two laboratories from ESPCI ParisTech: the "Laboratoire Ondes et Acoustique", founded and leaded by Mathias Fink, and the "Laboratoire d’Optique Physique" leaded by Claude Boccara. In 2011 the institute obtained the French government label “LABEX” (laboratory of excellence) for its WIFI project (Waves and Imaging: From Fundamentals to Innovation).

The researches conducted at the Institute aim at developing at a world level the physics of waves bringing together high level fundamental research, applied research, and company start ups in a thoroughly cross-disciplinary way.

The Langevin Institute was founded and directed by Mahias Fink from 2009 to 2013. It is now leaded by Arnaud Tourin who is assisted by two deputy-directors, Rémi Carminati and Mickaël Tanter and a scientific committee composed of Mathias Fink, Claude Boccara, Yannick De Wilde, Arnaud Derode, Julien de Rosny, Claire Prada.
