The Section of Conservation Biology of the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Basel, Switzerland is seeking a postdoctoral assistant from 1 August 2017 on for two years (prolongation +1.5 years). Working place is Basel. Salary will be according to the guidelines of Basel University.
The successful candidate will join the urban ecology or invasive species group in our research group and complement their current research activities. She/he will apply for research grants and assist in supervising MSc and doctoral students. A moderate amount of teaching is required.
PhD in biology (conservation, ecology, taxonomy, population genetics, soil biology), 1–2 years of post-doc experience in research, and several significant peer-reviewed publications. Sound knowledge of a group of invertebrates or plants and of advanced statistics.
