The  Solid State Spectroscopy Group seeks applications for a position as university assistant (post-doc) in Solid State Spectroscopy for 3 years, 40 hours/week, to start in September 2024. The position provides an outstanding opportunity for independent research as well as opportunities for collaboration with colleagues. Possible research topics are solid-state terahertz spectroscopy and/or multiferroic materials.

Tasks:

  • Will work in the field of terahertz spectroscopy and/or multiferroic materials
  • Is expected to publish in high-ranking academic journals
  • Is expected to contribute to joint research activities of the group
  • Participates in the teaching and supervision activities, but will have sufficient time to pursue an own research agenda

Your profile:

  • PhD degree in Solid State Physics or a related field at the time of employment
  • Experience in the field of solid-state terahertz spectroscopy and/or multiferroic materials.
  • High-quality research output (publications in international peer-reviewed journals) related to the field of Solid State Physics
  • Excellent knowledge of English, very good communication skills and team competences

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 4,752.30/month gross, 14 times/year for 40 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
