The Department of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Merseburg University of Applied Sciences is seeking to appoint, at the earliest opportunity, a Professor of:
Factual Multimedia Communication (W2 grade)
Within the Department, the professor will be responsible for teaching and research in areas relating to the design and implementation of multimedia and interactive information products, thereby identifying technical and academic content in ways that meet the target audience’s needs. These should be evidenced by means of an appropriate university degree, relevant practical experience and an active research record.
The candidate should be able to contribute to teaching on the “Information Design and Media Management” Master’s programme, on the “Technical Writing and E-Learning” Bachelor’s programme, and on other media-related programmes of study. In view of the increasingly international nature of the programmes offered, instruction will also be provided through the medium of English.
Experience of winning third-party funding and of participation in collaborative research projects is expressly sought. The candidate is also expected to be actively involved in the work of university administration committees.
The position is subject to the requirements and conditions of employment set out in Section 35 of the State of Saxony-Anhalt’s Higher Education Act (“HSG LSA”). The selected candidate will be remunerated on the basis of the applicable statutory and budgetary guidelines. In addition to the basic salary, bonuses may be paid to reward above-average performance.
