The postdoctor will conduct experimental studies of various types of flow instabilities. Initially, the instabilities of the boundary layers that develop on rotating cones of various sharpness will be investigated. The postdoctor will also be responsible for the development of an eccentric Taylor-Couette flow system with axial flow and for studies of flow instabilities in that system. For the first project measurement will be undertaken with hot-wire anemometry, for the second project multi-componant LDV and stereoscopic PIV will be used. The Postdoctoral position is one year, but can be extended with a second year.
We are looking for a candidate with a doctoral education (completed in the last three years) in experimental fluid dynamics with experience of velocity measurements using hot-wire anemometry and/or optical techniques. Good knowledge to communicate in english orally and in writing is required.
