Faculty Position in Information Systems (Big Data)

Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics (CATÓLICA-LISBON) invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor position in Information Systems starting September 2017. Seasoned Assistant or Associate Professors interested in applying will also be considered in the search at their appropriate level.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in a quantitative field such as operations research, computer science, statistics, economics or management and have demonstrated ability to use Big Data systems including tools for batch and stream processing (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, etc.).

The preferred candidate will have a strong research record of using core tools from data science, in particular information systems, information retrieval, search engines, recommender systems, predictive analytics and/or knowledge organization, to answer questions that are relevant for business decision makers.

CATÓLICA-LISBON is dedicated to developing the field of data science in its connection and application to industry to tackle business and economics problems, such that successful candidates coming from programs outside business and economics are expected to develop research agendas that bridge to and can address managerial or economic problems.

Faculty in management areas have published articles in Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Management Science, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Management, Management Information Systems Quarterly, Production and Operations Management, Research Policy, Organization Science, OBHDP, Annals of the Academy of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Journal of Business Ethics.
