The Institute for Educational Research within the School of Education focuses on empirical school-related research on educational science and special educational issues in the context of the various levels and institutions of the education system. It is responsible for the educational science components of all degree programs leading to a teaching degree as well as the special education degree programs (specializations in learning and emotional and social development).
We are looking for a person who conducts empirical research on primary school-related topics of language education and represents educational studies in the degree programmes leading to a degree for primary school teachers. Language education in primary schools should be considered in an overall context of social, cultural and institutional frameworks.

Requirements:
Besides pedagogical suitability, which has to be proven by appropriate previous experience or, in exceptional cases, demonstrated by excellent performance during the appointment procedure, the applicant is expected to have a particular aptitude for scientific work substantiated by the outstanding quality of a doctorate. Further scientific achievements must be demonstrated additionally and will be evaluated exclusively and comprehensively during the appointment procedure. The requirements for appointment to a first professorship include junior professorships, habilitations, employment as a research assistant at a university or at a non-university research institution and scientific positions in business, in administration or another social field in Germany or abroad.
The successful candidate is expected to actively support academic self-governance at the university.
