Aalto University School of Engineering invites applications for:
TENURE TRACK POSITION IN REAL ESTATE ECONOMICS
which can be filled on Assistant Professor level
The position is located in the Department of Built Environment, see http://builtenv.aalto.fi/en/. Based on the department’s strategy, the focus of the research is on sustainable built environment, engineering in cold regions, computational modelling, social infrastructure and digitalization. The research groups at the Department are Real Estate Economics, Spatial Planning and Transportation Engineering, Geoinformatics and Water and Environmental Engineering. Currently, the department has 22 professors.
The research field in real estate economics includes land management, real estate economic and valuation, economic and environmental law, and real estate business http://builtenv.aalto.fi/en/research/real_estate/.
The announced position is aimed at research in sustainable land management, especially cadastral systems, real estate planning and land use policy.
The applicant should hold a doctorate in a discipline relevant for this position. We look for a broad-based expert in real estate economics who is willing and able to foster active collaboration at the Department and develop joint activities both in research and in teaching, and is able to acquire external research funding from Finnish and international sources. Preference will be given to the candidates with research fields complementing and supporting the focus areas and teaching of the Department and the Real Estate Economics Group.
Good communication skills in fluent spoken and written English is minimum requirement. Command of Finnish or Swedish language is an asset in this respect.
The applicants will be reviewed on the basis of their research, teaching, academic leadership and activity in scientific community.
Throughout their careers, those in the academic tenure track system are expected to exercise and guide scientific research, to provide related higher academic education, to follow the advances of their field, to participate in service to the Aalto University community, and to take part in societal interaction and international collaboration in their field.
Aalto University follows the salary system of Finnish universities, but applicants may also provide salary requirements.
